Practical AI Workshops for Tourism Businesses 26/27

MWT Cymru is delivering a national series of free, hands-on workshops to help tourism and hospitality businesses across Wales use simple digital and AI tools to save time and strengthen their online presence.

Funded by Visit Wales and the Welsh Government and delivered through Business Wales, the workshops are designed for small and medium-sized businesses and focus on practical, easy-to-use tools rather than technical theory. Sessions are built around Harri, MWT Cymru's custom-built AI tool developed specifically for the Welsh tourism sector.

We’ll show you real, practical ways to use AI tools like ChatGPT to save time, attract more customers, make your business stand out and help convert interest to bookings:
  • Create scroll-stopping social media posts that boost attention, engagement, and bookings without spending hours on content
  • Optimise your Visit Wales and Google listings so they’re clear, compelling, and easy for customers and AI search tools to find and choose you!
  • Respond quickly to customer questions with friendly, professional messages that build trust and free up your time.
  • Save hours on content, updates, and emails, giving you more space to focus on running your business instead of admin.

​As the first cohort of sessions draws to a close in April 2026, the feedback has been brilliant. Demand has been exceptionally strong throughout the programme, with 90% of places booked within a week of launch.

Welsh Language Helpdesk for Visit Wales

​MWT Cymru manages the official Welsh Language Helpdesk for businesses needing help updating the VisitWales.com website.  

Through this contract, we:
  • Provide support and guidance on Welsh language usage
  • Assist in maintaining consistency and accuracy in Welsh content
  • Promote cultural identity through accessible language resources

TXGB Rollout in Wales – Mid, South East & South West

​MWT Cymru is delivering the Tourism Exchange Great Britain (TXGB) rollout across Mid, South East, and South West Wales. TXGB is a distribution platform licensed for use in Wales by Visit Wales.

This project helps:
  • Equip businesses with tools to manage pricing and availability across platforms
  • Connect tourism providers to a wider distribution network, including VisitMidWales.co.uk
  • Enhance visibility, flexibility, and control over direct bookings
IMI Wales – Regenerative Tourism Through Intelligence & Technology
IMI Wales is an in-house project developed by MWT Cymru, focused on regenerative tourism using blockchain technology to strengthen connections between rural towns, independent businesses and the visitor economy.

This project supports:
  • Cross-promotion between businesses to keep more visitor spend within the local area
  • Rewarding and incentivising sustainable behaviour among visitors
  • Intelligent data sharing that supports policy, funding and development decisions
