Q1: Who can become a member of MWT Cymru? A: Any business, organisation or group involved in the visitor economy across Mid Wales can join. This includes accommodation providers, attractions, activity companies, shops, cafés, town councils, event organisers, and more.
Q2: Do I have to be based in Mid Wales to join? A: No. While most of our members are based in Powys, Ceredigion and Meirionnydd (Southern Snowdonia), we also work with businesses who want to target visitors to the region or be part of our pan-Wales network via ShowMeWales.co.uk.
Q3: What’s included in my membership? A: Every member receives a listing on VisitMidWales.co.uk, access to exclusive advertising and marketing opportunities, PR and media support (including press release distribution and journalist referrals), industry updates, business support, event invites, and access to our savings schemes (fuel cards, discounts, etc.).
Q4: How much does it cost to join? A: Membership starts from just £110 + VAT per year, with flexible pricing depending on your business type and size. See our Membership Options & Fees ➔ page for full details.
Q5: Can I pay monthly? A: Yes! We offer monthly payment plans via Direct Debit to help manage your cash flow while still accessing all benefits.
Q6: What kind of marketing exposure will I get? A: Your business will appear on the official VisitMidWales and/or ShowMeWales websites. You’ll also be eligible to advertise in our visitor guides, bedroom browsers and digital campaigns – all targeted directly at people planning a trip to Mid Wales.
Q7: Do you offer support or advice? A: Yes. Our team is here to help with everything from online visibility and listing advice to industry regulations, funding news and more. You can pick up the phone and speak to a real person who understands the local tourism landscape.
Q8: I’m a very small business – is this for me? A: Absolutely. Whether you run a one-room B&B or a large attraction, your voice matters. We work with hundreds of micro and family-run businesses.
Q9: Is MWT Cymru part of the council or government? A: No. We’re an independent, not-for-profit membership organisation. We do work closely with local councils and Visit Wales, but our priority is always our members.
Q10: How do I join? A: Simply visit our Join Now ➔ page or get in touch with us directly – we’re happy to help walk you through it.
