Wales Tourism Alliance (WTA) We work closely, and are an active member of the WTA to ensure that tourism policy in Wales reflects the needs of independent businesses. Our former Chair, Rowland Rees-Evans, now serves as WTA Chair, strengthening the relationship between our organisations. Through the WTA, our members’ concerns feed into national advocacy and response.
Visit Wales While we are fully independent, we collaborate with Visit Wales on shared projects and strategic priorities. We manage the Welsh Language Data Steward Helpdesk for Visit Wales and support the regional rollout of the TXGB distribution platform. These partnerships allow us to deliver extra value and visibility for our members and region across Wales and beyond.
Cross-Sector Representation
We sit on a wide range of industry and government working groups, forums and boards, giving Mid Wales tourism businesses a seat at the table. MWT Cymru represents members via:
Mid Wales Regional Forum
Wales Tourism Cross-Party Group (Senedd)
Caravan & Camping Forum for Wales
Heart of Wales Line Development Group
Cambrian Railway Partnership
Wales Transport Forum
Gwynedd & Eryri Partnership
Tourism Sector Group
Bank of England Business Panel (Wales)
We also collaborate across sectors – from public transport to heritage, business rates to energy policy – to ensure that rural and tourism voices are always part of the conversation.
Why It Matters
Your membership helps fund a stronger voice for Mid Wales. These partnerships don’t just raise the region’s profile – they protect its future.
