Support
We understand that it can be tough running a business whilst simultaneously trying to keep up to date with the latest visitor and marketing trends. We're here to help!
We provide regular e-news updates with important industry news and opportunities. We also hold members meetings that allow you to network with other businesses, find out what's going on face-to-face (currently being held virtually once a month), and pick up a few hints and tips along the way to help your business grow. Membership is a great way to feel connected to the industry.
Too busy to attend meetings? - that's fine, you can also keep in contact with fellow members via our closed, members only, Facebook Group. We also have an exclusive members area on this, our industry website, where you can access additional content and support.
Our 5 day a week (friendly) helpline is here for you too! If you have any questions then please do not hesitate to give the team a call and if we can't answer your query , we probably know who can - save yourself time and frustration and get the answer you're looking for from a real person.
Our experienced team have worked in tourism for many years, either through associations or running their own businesses. Zoe, our Operations and Digital Manager, still runs her accommodation business, so we know how hard it can be to juggle that work-life balance.

Accommodation FAQs
Is MWT Cymru the same as Mid Wales Tourism?
Yes. MWT Cymru is Mid Wales Tourism. We changed our name to MWT Cymru in 2015 as we have an increasing number of members from West and South Wales. We were established in 1991 and over the past 25 years we have established ourselves as industry leaders in supporting the tourism business community and delivering innovative marketing campaigns.
I’m already a member of my local tourism association. What additional benefits do I get by joining MWT Cymru?
We work closely with local tourism associations and value the important role they play. We represent our members at regional, national and international level, as well as local. Our marketing channels can provide your business with far greater reach, and our buying power can provide you with better deals and savings on a range of specialist services.
Do I have to be graded or accredited to join membership?
No, if you’re an accommodation business you do not have to be graded or accredited to join membership or to appear on our websites, www.visitmidwales.co.uk and www.showmewales.co.uk or on our Show Me Wales app.
However, you do have to be graded or accredited if you wish to appear on the Visit Wales website, www.visitwales.co.uk.

If I join membership do I have to use Guestlink?
You need to use Guestlink to update your basic info; text, facilities, images etc. but not necessarily to update your availability. A number of availability & booking systems integrate using Guestlink + Connect - really useful as this will save you time updating multiple channels.
Guestlink + Connect provides an interface between your PMS and a wide variety of distribution channels.

Are you a booking agency?
No, we are not a booking agency. We are a not-for-profit membership and marketing organisation.
We encourage visitors to 'book direct' with accommodation owners/managers, and all our businesses' contact details are published on our websites for this reason.
Any bookings made directly on www.visitmidwales.co.uk are commission free (members will need to update their availability/actively use the booking system in order to take bookings on our websites). Many members do this, whilst some simply refer visitors to their own websites. The booking engine can also be plugged into your own website - please ask us about the options available.

How much business should we expect to get from you?
Your main source of enquiries and bookings should always be from your own website (or via your agency if you’re working with one). Members who regularly update their online availability and booking, send us press releases and participate in our marketing campaigns, will do better than those who don’t. We are not a booking agency, our aim is to drive business to you direct.
A whole host of factors will come into play relating to your own marketing e.g. what type of business do you run, how much are you charging etc. We can help by referring visitors to your website and providing top-up business.
You will receive regular updates from Guestlink and will be able to monitor the number of referrals our channels have generated for you.
