Support
We understand that it can be tough running a business whilst simultaneously trying to keep up to date with the latest visitor and marketing trends. We're here to help!
We provide regular e-news updates with important industry news and opportunities. We also hold members meetings that allow you to network with other businesses, find out what's going on face-to-face, and pick up a few hints and tips along the way to help your business grow. Membership is a great way to feel connected to the industry. Too busy to attend meetings? - that's fine, you can also keep in contact with fellow members via our closed, members only, Facebook Group. We also have an exclusive members area on this, our industry website, where you can access additional content and support. Our 5 day a week (friendly) helpline is here for you too! If you have any questions then please do not hesitate to give the team a call and if we can't answer your query , we probably know who can - save yourself time and frustration and get the answer you're looking for from a real person. Our experienced team have worked in tourism for many years, either through associations or running their own businesses. Zoe, our Operations and Digital Manager, still runs her accommodation business, so we know how hard it can be to juggle that work-life balance. Make your life easier and become a member of MWT. |
4) Representation
Representation
Collectively, our voice is stronger. We have 600+ members in Wales from all sectors of the industry including accommodation, attractions & activities, event organisers, retail, food & drink, national organisations and specialist suppliers, who help us to champion the tourism sector in Mid Wales.
We provide membership support and we undertake destination marketing campaigns to put Mid Wales on the map. For MWT, a thriving visitor economy means a place where people want to live, work and invest. It's about inward investment, skilled jobs, better infrastructure and creating an environment where the next generation can stay and prosper. By joining MWT Cymru you'll become part of the leading tourism organisation in Mid Wales. Supporting the work MWT does independently of government ensures that we all work together for the benefit of our industry. MWT represents the tourism business community on the Wales Tourism Alliance, Cross Party Group for Tourism, Mid Wales Regional Forum and other groups. This ensures our voice is continuously heard and we're protecting our industry in a way we can only do collectively. MWT Cymru is a not for profit organisation, established in 1991 and owned by our tourism members. We are the ONLY regional destination management organisation for Mid & West Coast Wales - Mid Wales' counties are; Powys, Ceredigion and Meirionnydd (Southern Snowdonia). |
Accommodation FAQs
Can I join MWT if I'm with an agency?
Yes, you can. We are not an accommodation agency ourselves; we don't take bookings for you. We give you the platforms to deal directly with visitors yourself and manage your own bookings. Some members are with agencies and join MWT to support the destination marketing work we do to promote Mid Wales, to stay in the loop and network with other businesses, and get top-up, commission free referrals on top of their agency bookings.
what's the cost to join?
The cost depends on your type of business and how big you are - the online joining form will calculate it for you when you fill in your details, or you can click here for membership fees.
If you wish to take bookings online (which we recommend) please note that you will need a card payment provider to manage your payments - we can point you in the right direction, e.g. Stripe, Card Cutters, Kashing. Different providers charge different commission which is additional to your MWT membership fee.
If you wish to take bookings on your own website and other sites such as Booking.com, we have negotiated discounts for our members with Guestlink+, Eviivo and Freeto Book platforms.
