By joining MWT Cymru you'll become part of the leading tourism organisation in Mid and South Wales. Supporting the work MWT does independently of government ensures that we all work together for the benefit of our industry. MWT represents the tourism business community on the Wales Tourism Alliance, Cross Party Group for Tourism, Mid Wales Regional Forum and other groups. This ensures our voice is continuously heard and we're protecting our industry in a way we can only do collectively.
Established in 1991 we provide full membership for businesses in Mid, West & South Wales.
We have over 550+ members throughout Wales, ranging from small 2 bedroom B&B's and single cottages, right the way up to large organisation such as NRW.

How often do we stop to think about how our visitors find out about our regions and decide to book?
We often hear from accommodation providers who say they get all their business through booking.com - they may well get bookings from this channel, but to use these websites, visitors have to know what town they're looking to stay in in the first place.
This is where MWT comes in. Our website channels don't just list members' information; they also have thousands of pages promoting walking routes, towns/villages, scenic places, picnic spots, hills, mountains, events... the list goes on.
Without continued investment in destination marketing that promotes the whole region, we're at risk of losing out to the competition. We want to encourage repeat visits but we also want to reach out to first time visitors.

Representation
Part of our role at MWT is to represent the tourism industry at a regional and national level. Though the joint work via the WTA (Wales Tourism Alliance) we represent our businesses on a number of groups,
Membership is open to any business, individual, community group, tourism association or group interested or involved in any way with the visitor economy in Mid, West and South Wales and its surrounding areas.

Yes, MWT is open to all business across Wales. We promote our member businesses on our website www.showmewales.co.uk and our Show Me Wales app
Are you a booking agency?
No, we are not a booking agency. We are a not-for-profit membership and marketing organisation.
We encourage visitors to 'book direct' with accommodation owners/managers, and all our businesses' contact details are published on our websites for this reason.
Even though we are not a booking agency, we offer members the option of using our booking engine. This is at no additional charge to your membership to use this functionality but our Show Me Wales channels are subject to a 10% commission on confirmed bookings.
Your membership pays for the help, support, networking and continued work we do to put our regions on the map! Members automatically get links to their own websites on all our channels so visitors can find your website, and hopefully book direct with you.

We work closely with local tourism associations and value the important role they play. Local and regional membership organisations have different benefits. We represent our members at regional, national and international level. Our marketing channels can therefore provide your business with greater reach, and our buying power can provide you with better deals and savings on a range of specialist services. Our members also value the benefits of networking with tourism businesses throughout the region.

Do I have to be graded or accredited to join membership?
No, if you’re an accommodation business you do not have to be graded or accredited to join membership or to appear on our websites, www.visitmidwales.co.uk and www.showmewales.co.uk or on our Show Me Wales app.
However, you do have to be graded or accredited if you wish to appear on the Visit Wales website, www.visitwales.co.uk.
