A new treasurer and trustee have been appointed to the National Library of Wales’ Board of Trustees.
Lee Yale-Helms will take over as treasurer from Colin John from August 1, while Eleri Twynog Davies has already begun her post as trustee. Both have been appointed for four years.
Rhodri Glyn Thomas, the library’s president, said both Mr Yale-Helms and Ms Davies would offer experience and valuable expertise to the board.
Mr Lee Yale-Helms, who lives in Holywell and works as an associate director for CIPFA’s Financial Advisory Services, is an associate lecturer in accounting, finance and economics at the University of Manchester.
Experienced in fundraising, he has helped a number of organisations to obtain funding form the Heritage Lottery Fund. He is also active in his local community in fundraising for the Riding Association for the Disabled and is treasurer of a local junior football team.
Prior to joining the CIPFA, he worked for Pricewaterhouse Coopers, specialising in corporate governance and before that, was as senior accountant with Cheshire County Council.
A native of Lampeter, Ms Davies now lives in Llansteffan and manages a children’s theatre company – In Character - which commissions and produces shows for schools and heritage sites based on characters form Welsh history.
She is also a director of the Children’s Welsh History Festival, an annual event which works in partnership with heritage bodies to stage shows and workshops about the history of Wales in heritage sites across Wales.
She worked as head of marketing and events for S4C for 12 years and is a former marketing officer for the National Eisteddfod and the National Museum Wales.
